Beauty is truth's smile when she beholds her own face in a perfect mirror. - TAGORE
Sometimes as much as I like the company of a dear one
that much I would really wish to be left alone
never in loneliness, but always in solitude
in the times of loss, to restore my aptitude
When things get too noisy, silence is what I prefer
to reflect the truth, I am my best possible mirror.
If I get to see in it, a disagreeable or ugly reflection
instant repair and a lesson would be my salvation.
If my image is spotless and not a cause for noise
no amount of persuasion can ever alter my poise.
Totally believe that understanding self is mandatory
to relieve and assure us from any kind of quandary.
Luxury of my own company is what I always valued
clear mind is the best gift that would be bestowed.
That's when the noise dies and restores my peace
to face the world, a world most pleasurably at ease
filled with only well wishers and wonderful friends
complete with opportunities, hopes and dreams.
Never do I ever wish for a life devoid of noise
as I have my ways to turn it into music always :)))
Sometimes, however melodious a tune may be or however deeply meaningful a word is, they just cant match the peace rendered by utter silence and solitude. No wonder meditation is given so much importance...!!!
I always had ideas about self reflection but they formed into above shape by thoughts rendered by Tagore's Gitanjali - 29 th poem..... I do not want to lose sight of myself.
He whom I enclose with my name
is weeping in this dungeon.
I am ever busy building this wall all around;
and as this wall goes up into the sky day by day
I lose sight of my true being in its dark shadow.
I take pride in this great wall, and I plaster it
with dust and sand lest a least hole should be left
in this name; and for all the care I take
I lose sight of my true being.
Every single poem of his is BEAUTIFUL !!!!
After reading the very first one, I knew that this would be my most favourite book.
We fall asleep when we get to see or read something which is highly boring and in contrary also when we are too peaceful and devoid of any tension. I used to literally fall asleep for every few poems.... Had to stop reading during day time :)
They made me feel so much at peace that they were like singing most beautiful and divine lullabies. Had to read each poem multiple times as once wasn't enough at all. Want to write a separate page in this blog with thoughts and feelings awakened by every poem of Gitanjali separately...got this idea from 'Julie and Julia' :) (hmm... Meryl Streep did awesome), but I just don't want to decide upon a time frame. This is my own way of paying my respects to my most respected and favourite author.
